Role Overview

The Executive Director is a key leadership role responsible for driving strategic execution, operational alignment, and regulatory leadership across OKX Australia. Acting as the CEO’s trusted advisor and delegate, the Executive Director ensures the seamless execution of OKX Australia’s business strategy, market expansion, and compliance initiatives. The role requires strong cross-functional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and risk management capabilities to support OKX’s growth, efficiency, and regulatory excellence.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy Execution & Business Performance

  • Lead the execution of OKX Australia’s strategic initiatives, including market expansion, product localization, and institutional engagement.

  • Oversee the tracking, reporting, and optimization of key business KPIs, ensuring alignment with OKX’s growth targets.

  • Ensure strategic alignment with OKX’s global leadership, balancing local execution with global priorities.

Leading Strategic Growth Projects

  • Help identify, scope and then spearhead cross-functional strategic growth initiatives on a quarterly basis as agreed with the CEO.

  • Align growth projects with OKX Australia’s 2025-2028 business objectives, ensuring scalability and long-term sustainability.

  • Identify and execute new business opportunities, leveraging OKX’s global capabilities to expand market penetration in Australia.

Executive Leadership & CEO Delegation

  • Act as a trusted delegate for the CEO, representing OKX Australia in executive meetings, industry discussions, and regulatory engagements.

  • Prepare and deliver reports, executive briefings, and performance updates to support senior-level decision-making.

  • Lead executive strategy and operational sessions, ensuring alignment across departments and driving effective execution.

Operational Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Ensure seamless collaboration between Compliance, Legal, Risk, Growth, Sales and, and Operations, removing roadblocks and improving execution speed.

  • Optimize internal processes, workflows, and reporting mechanisms to improve operational efficiency.

  • Oversee the execution of OKX’s Transparency Report on a quarterly basis including co-ordinating with Compliance to ensure regulatory leadership as a key differentiator is maintained.

Internal Stakeholder Management & Engagement

  • Coordinate and influence OKX’s global teams, ensuring local priorities are aligned with global product, compliance, and business strategy.

  • Act as a bridge between OKX Australia and global leadership, advocating for local market needs, regulatory priorities, and strategic initiatives.

  • Ensure Australia’s growth strategy is fully integrated into OKX’s broader global planning, securing resources, alignment, and execution support.

  • Work with global product teams to localize offerings, ensuring seamless adaptation of OKX’s technology, trading products, and user experience for the Australian market.

  • Partner with international compliance teams to ensure regulatory best practices, maintaining alignment with ASIC, AUSTRAC, and global compliance frameworks.

Risk & Crisis Management

  • Identify and mitigate regulatory, operational, and reputational risks, ensuring OKX remains compliant and market-resilient.

  • Oversee crisis management frameworks, ensuring rapid response to market shifts, security incidents, or regulatory actions.

  • Work with legal, compliance, and risk teams to strengthen governance frameworks and minimize business vulnerabilities.

Leadership & Organizational Culture

  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture aligned with OKX’s global values.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve team collaboration, accountability, and operational efficiency.

  • Support leadership development, hiring, and succession planning within the Australian business unit.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • Degree in Law, Accountancy, Finance, Economics or in a related subject or equivalent practical experience such as management consulting.

  • Intuitive, highly ethical and comfortable to question and challenge.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

  • Prior experience in a senior management position in digital assets, derivatives or financial services.

  • No conflicts with other roles, or historical conduct or affiliations.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the crypto/blockchain space

  • Broad product implementation experience, including development and product launch as well as complex product integration and maintenance in local markets

  • Crypto native - passionate about blockchain and crypto
