About the role.
As Export Manager ANZ, you will have a pivotal role in growing and developing McCain's export business in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) and across international markets. Based in either Sydney (preferred) or Melbourne, you will lead the evolution of our export function-from traditional clearing of excess produce to building a strategic, value-generating export business. With responsibility for 150+ SKUs across five product categories, you will drive McCain's presence in more than 15 countries, building networks and unlocking new opportunities across the ANZ region and beyond.
You will report to the Head of Business Development and work cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, finance, quality, customer service, and logistics teams, focusing especially on the ANZ region as a springboard to broader markets.

What you'll be doing.
- Develop and execute strategies to drive growth of the export business across ANZ and targeted international markets, shifting from excess produce sales to a value-driven approach.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities using your established FMCG export networks and deep industry insight.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders across multiple geographies and sales channels.
- Coordinate clearance of discontinued or excess products from McCain manufacturing facilities, and identify supply synergies to improve efficiency.
- Perform market analysis and uncover white space opportunities, supporting development of both existing and new product ranges in export markets.
- Lead pricing management: from establishing customer-specific agreements and resolving discrepancies, to maintaining up-to-date price lists for both retail and food service.
- Ensure timely, accurate forecasting and comprehensive reporting, aligning with a strategic 5-year export plan and achieving annual budget targets.
- Act as the key liaison with government bodies, industry associations, and regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance and the maximization of export opportunities.
- Provide comprehensive, high-quality support to customers, responding promptly to queries and supplying all required product information.
- Travel regularly within Asia Pacific and New Zealand (approximately once every four weeks) for stakeholder engagement and market development.
What you'll need to be successful.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in export management within the FMCG industry.
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field (essential).
- Proven success identifying and capturing new export, retail, and food service opportunities.
- Strong understanding of the export market landscape, including incoterms, regulatory/documentation requirements, and operational complexities specific to ANZ and international regions.
- Demonstrated ability to establish networks and develop internal/external partnerships.
- Highly developed skills in negotiation, strategic planning, and stakeholder management.
- Exceptional organization, project management, and communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of business operations; SAP experience highly regarded but not essential.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Asia Pacific and New Zealand as required.
- Valid passport required.
