The opportunity

We’re offering an exciting fixed-term opportunity for an experienced Finance Business Partner to support our SME Business Unit during a period of parental leave cover. In this role, you’ll act as a strategic liaison between Finance and senior stakeholders, providing expert guidance and insights to enable sound financial decision-making.

Your new role

As the Finance Business Partner for the SME Business Unit, you will deliver high-quality financial support to senior leadership, overseeing financial planning, management reporting, and performance analysis. This role is responsible for leading management accounting activities, including regular forecasting, planning cycles, and insightful analysis to inform strategic decisions. You will also head Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), ensuring alignment between financial operations and long-term business objectives, while driving the efficient delivery of professional services across the unit.

A day in the role may look a bit like this:

  • Drive Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) across the SME business unit, supporting senior management with strategic insights and decision-making.
  • Implement financial planning processes, challenge expense plans, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage budget preparation and consolidation, delivering timely management reporting and performance analysis.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior leaders and stakeholders, translating data into actionable insights.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior management, providing expert financial advice and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support process optimisation and governance improvements in FP&A, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and efficient service delivery.

About you

To be successful as a Finance Business Partner, you will be an insurance professional with strong financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and reporting expertise. You will have the ability to communicate complex financial insights clearly to stakeholders and a strategic mindset that aligns financial operations with business goals.

You will also have:

  • Proven experience as Finance Business Partner or FP&A professional with proven success in financial consulting within the insurance sector.
  • Excel at forward planning and forecasting and remain curious and adaptable in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills that enable you to lead, influence, and negotiate effectively with senior leaders.
  • Ability to provide commercially astute, data-backed advice that supports strategic decision-making at the highest levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
