Job Description

The Finance Change Portfolio Manager provides enterprise-wide oversight of all change initiatives impacting Finance, offering a single, authoritative view across business-led, finance-led, and enterprise programs and projects. Partnering closely with Finance leaders, project managers, Technology, Risk, and the Enterprise PMO, this role ensures Finance change initiatives are aligned to strategic priorities, organisational capacity, and regulatory requirements.

Operating at the highest level of Finance change governance, the role is responsible for portfolio planning, prioritisation, governance, orchestration, and executive decision support. This is not a project delivery nor traditional change management role.

In this role you will:

  • Define and maintain the Finance change portfolio structure, ensuring it reflects business priorities and strategic objectives, including reporting methodology (reporting lines, frequency etc).
  • Support investment and prioritisation decisions by evaluating proposed initiatives impacting the Finance business unit.
  • Lead portfolio level assurance activities, supporting transparency, risk visibility and confidence in decision making.
  • Own and operate the Finance Change Forum, including governance standards, agenda management, reporting, action tracking and follow up.
  • Create a comprehensive maturity model for the organisation's change capability.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of strong experience in project/program/portfolio management in relation to life insurance industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of various project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid), project/program lifecycles, dependencies and organisational capacity planning
  • Proven ability to operate at a portfolio or enterprise governance level, working confidently with General Managers and Executive stakeholders
  • Ability to understand organisational strategy and assess how individual initiatives contribute to long-term objectives, including knowing when to say no
  • Familiar with the software development lifecycle and the usage of project management software such as MS Project and JIRA)
  • Strong capability to interpret data, business cases, risk profiles and performance metrics to inform recommendations
  • Proven ability to engage, influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders across Finance and Enterprise
