Job Description:
The Finance Manager plays a key role in managing the fund accounting function. Reporting to the Head of Finance you will have responsibility for overseeing the accounting deliverables and performance of the external fund accountant. This is a hands-on role and is supported by a senior associate.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include though are not limited to;
- Guiding the development of, and manage the day-to-day workflow and performance of a senior associate,
- Oversight and review of the deliverables of the external fund accountant including;
- Review and approve all fund distributions and associated ETF disclosures,
- Plan and manage the full year and half year audit of financial statements,
- Ensure the timely delivery of all tax compliance obligations,
- Manage the withholding tax reclaims program,
- Calculation and maintenance of management fees and expense ratios,
- Work closely with the external tax advisor to ensure the accuracy and timely reporting of all tax compliance obligations,
- Review, approve and reconcile all in fund expenses and accrual balances,
- Help evolve, implement, and monitor the tax governance and control frameworks of the funds.
Qualifications:
- Approximately 8 years’ experience with the majority in a financial services environment,
- CA/CPA qualification,
- Experience in managing and developing staff,
- Accounting degree with post graduate qualifications preferable,
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and procedures,
- Ability to manage multiple and competing deadlines,
- Proficient in Excel,
- Attention to detail,
- Able to work well in a team environment,
- Good communication skills
