About the Role:

Lendlease is currently seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to join our Origination and Conversion Team, reporting directly to the General Manager Finance, Origination and Conversion.

This commercially focused role plays a critical part in supporting the Origination function within Lendlease Development, contributing to the due diligence and acquisition of prospective development sites across key sectors including Build to Rent, Workplace, Urban Retail, Apartments and Industrial.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with Commercial Managers and the Development Origination team, providing strategic financial insights and robust commercial assessments to support high-value origination opportunities. They will also provide leadership and oversight to a team of Financial Analysts, ensuring high-quality analysis and collaboration across the function.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic commercial advice that aligns with Lendlease’s broader Group Strategy, supporting informed decision-making across the business.

  • Oversee the financial aspects of bid and transaction processes, ensuring a smooth process, robust analysis and alignment with commercial objectives.

  • Develop and maintain detailed feasibility models to assess potential development opportunities, applying rigorous due diligence to key assumptions including revenue, costs, timelines, site characteristics, and competitor benchmarks.

  • Support the structuring of complex transactions, ensuring alignment with risk-adjusted return expectations and portfolio management framework requirements.

  • Contribute to financial and commercial due diligence across a diverse range of on- and off-market investment opportunities aligned with Lendlease Development’s strategic objectives.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including benchmarking underwriting assumptions, enhancing pipeline reporting, and refining investment paper content.

  • Provide clear guidance and effectively delegate responsibilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputs from Financial Analysts through strong oversight and mentorship.

  • Apply advanced Excel modelling skills to develop and manage models for complex transaction structures.

  • Engage effectively with key stakeholders, including the Head of Origination, Development Origination and Capital teams, and internal/external advisors across legal, accounting, and tax disciplines.

About you:

The ideal candidate will possess strong process management and stakeholder engagement skills, along advanced Excel modelling expertise, with a proven track record in developing and managing complex financial models. Your commercial acumen is complemented by a genuine passion for property development, and you thrive in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment that offers exposure to a diverse range of opportunities.

With relevant tertiary qualifications and additional credentials such as CA, CPA, or CFA, you have accumulated 5+ years of experience in property development or similarly complex project environments.
