Your function: 

As Finance Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Finance in carrying out financial accounting responsibilities for our Australian and New Zealand group and joint venture companies. You will safeguard a sound financial and operational internal control environment and be proactive in identifying and correcting issues.  You will enhance our control environment and promote a control mindset across the team. You will have a strong background in system and process control assessment & documentation.  You will have an audit background and technical accounting knowledge and be able to apply it.

Day to day: 

  • Complete Internal Controls and Risk framework controls testing. Be proactive in remediation of risk findings and documentation of control procedure changes and updates. Identify any gaps in processes, document and correct.

  • Complete & co-ordinate month end reporting controls (MEC) procedures.

  • Safeguard a sound financial and operational internal control environment. 

  • Ensuring financial results (actual and budget) are recorded correctly in the Hyperion reporting package and reconcile with general ledger. 

  • Analysis of the numbers, reviewing trend variances and obtaining explanations for financial reporting variances.

  • Review of reconciliations done by team members and completion of complex reconciliations.

  • Oversee the completion of all quarterly corporate disclosures reporting templates and any ad- hoc financial reporting requests.

  • Co-ordination and liaison with external auditors. Review of reconciliations and work papers prior to submitting to auditors.  Gathering information and preparing work papers as part of year end audit.

  • Take central role in preparing/compiling annual financial statements.

  • Ensure changes or updates to accounting standards and regulatory reporting are promptly assessed and captured in internal and external reporting processes.

  • Manage a team of two accountants and be able to develop their skills and accounting knowledge.

  • Support the Head of Finance and provide guidance and assistance to the accountants, providing backup when required

  • Involvement in Finance initiatives to enhance reporting, improve processes, and various other initiatives.

Your profile: 

  • Experience in designing and documenting controls and control procedures. 

  • Audit background.  Qualified, ideally CA qualified

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal customers, including colleagues in other time zones.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, knowledge of Power BI 

  • Previous experience of Microsoft Great Plains General Ledger and Hyperion Financial Management system or similar General ledger and accounting reporting packages highly regarded.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proactive mindset and committed to meeting deadlines.

  • Analytical skills and good business acumen

  • Accuracy and perfectionism are desired traits

  • Flexible and able to manage competing priorities

  • Good verbal and written skills

 

Extras:

 

  • Experience with reporting to a global organisation and having an understanding of global reporting demands

  • Experience in banking/finance preferably with a leasing company

  • This role has two direct reports
