This is an opportunity for a proactive financial accountant looking to build their listed reporting experience in a highly collaborative team.
About the role
As a Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting year-end reporting and financial control activities. This is a hands-on role where you’ll contribute to critical reporting processes, ensuring accurate financial results and maintaining strong financial controls, whilst partnering with the business and auditors.
Your work will include:

Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial results.

Preparing journals, and balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting with analysis of accounts.

Preparing consolidation entries and ensuring accurate intercompany accounting.

Assisting with the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.

Supporting the preparation of the Group annual financial report and other ASX-listed financial reporting requirements.

Preparation of stand-alone annual financial reports and related Board papers for Challenger subsidiaries.

Help compile audit files and liaise with external auditors to resolve queries.

Providing ad hoc accounting support to business partners as needed.
The skills and experience you’ll need
You’ll be CA or CPA qualified with 2–4 years of experience in audit or commercial accounting with hands-on exposure to month-end close, reconciliations, year-end reporting, and statutory reporting.
Ideally, you’ll have experience within a financial services or ASX-listed environment as well as

Solid working knowledge of accounting standards (AASB and IFRS).

Experience preparing or auditing annual financial reports (financial statements and notes)

Good Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.) and familiarity with Workday, Workiva or similar systems.

Exposure to consolidation accounting, intercompany transactions, and eliminations in a multi-entity environment is highly desirable.

A self-starter mindset—you can work independently and meet deadlines with efficiency and ease.

Clear communication skills—able to effectively present financial information and work collaboratively across teams.

Strong attention to detail and a curious mindset.
