About the team:
Opportunity to become a key member of ASX’s Finance team. This role will be part of the financial control team working on month end close, rebate payment processing, daily banking and reconciliations. Working within the Finance team you will be exposed to the many and varied functions of the CFO office.
The Financial Control team consists of Financial Control, Finance Operations, Tax, Finance Systems and National Facilities. This role is within the Financial Control, focussing on month end close and reporting activities.
What you will be doing:
Support the Financial Accountant and Senior Financial Accountant with their daily and month end tasks, which includes the support and completion of:
Month end tasks (including but not limited to balance sheet reconciliations, journals posting)
Management and completion of daily banking tasks including but not limited to processing supplier payments once approved, and reviewing banking limits and account transfers
Completion of daily reconciliation activities
Month end reporting
Monthly calculation and payment of ASX rebates
Assistance with year-end and half-year activities
Other special projects and duties as assigned.
What you will bring:

Strong Excel skills
Ability to pick up tasks quickly
Exposure to a strong, robust, documented and process-driven approach month-end process
Intermediate level of understanding of accounting principles
Team player
Self-motivated
Planning skills and meeting deadlines
Nice to have
Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounting (accounting firm) or listed company environment, working in the auditing or accounting department
Understanding of Accounting Standards
Have recently completed or is completing their postgraduate accounting qualifications (CA / CPA equivalent.
