Glitch Productions is an independent animation studio based in Australia making original, long form animated shows distributed on Youtube. Our channel has over 22 million subscribers, tens of millions of views per episode and is still growing strong. Our studio is filled with incredibly talented and passionate artists that are determined to change the way animation is produced and treated in the industry. Our biggest IP; Digital Circus, has amassed over 350 million views on the pilot alone and we have a lot more still to come.


 

Role Information: 

We are seeking a commercially focused and hand-on FP&A professional to support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and business performance.

The role reports to the Head of Finance and work closely with broader business teams to provide insights that drive growth and profitability.

The role also supports the wider Finance team and contributes to process improvement and team development.

 

Your duties will include:

 

We're seeking a commercially focused, hands-on FP&A professional to drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll work closely with business teams to deliver insights that support growth and profitability, while contributing to broader Finance team development and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Forecasting

  • Partner with Production and Development leads to prepare budgets, forecasts, and rolling forecasts (revenue, margin, opex, EBITDA, cash flow)
  • Analyse actuals vs. budget/forecast, identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities
  • Build financial models and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions

Commercial & E-Commerce Analysis

  • Analyse sales, profitability, and margin by product, channel, customer, and market; monitor E-Commerce KPIs (revenue, repeat purchase rate)
  • Support pricing, promotional, and discount strategy through financial modelling
  • Analyse fulfilment, shipping, payment gateway, marketplace, and marketing/advertising costs against ROI

Inventory & Working Capital

  • Partner with Operations/Supply Chain on inventory forecasting and valuation
  • Analyse inventory turnover, ageing, and slow-moving stock

Reporting & Business Partnering

  • Prepare monthly management reports and present financial/commercial insights to senior leadership
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations for non-finance stakeholders
  • Support forecasting for business expansion (e.g. First-Party Retail, video games, new product lines)

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Manage and optimise Xero, Shopify, PayPal, A2X and related financial/e-commerce system integrations
  • Automate recurring reporting; identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve data accuracy
  • Support broader Finance team (AP, AR, payroll) as needed and share knowledge/training on systems and processes
Team, Collaboration & Finance Support
  • Support other finance team members, including Financial Accountant, AP, AR and
    payroll functions, when required
  • Provide training, coaching and knowledge sharing to Finance team members on
    financial processes, systems, reporting and analytical tools
 

A successful candidate will have:

  • Degree in Accounting and Finance
  • CPA or CA qualified, or currently pursuing CPA/CA qualification
  • 4+ years’ experience in financial and management accounting, FP&A
  • Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, budgeting & forecasting , and financial analysis
  • Strong Excel skills, including financial modelling, data analysis and reporting
  • Attention to details and ability to investigate discrepancies and identify financial analysis
 

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience in E-Commerce, retails, consumer products
  • Hand-on experience with Xero, Shopify, PayPal, A2X, or Airtable 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and time management skills.
  • An understanding or experience with the arts, animation, gaming, and/or ‘internet nerd’ culture.
  • Be extremely organized and have a strong work ethic.
  • Engaging personality and willingness to learn.
