The opportunity
We have a brand new opportunity for a Franchise Operations Manager to join the Elders Insurance Underwriting Agency (EIUA) team. Reporting to the Head of Operations you will be accountable for the end‑to‑end legal, governance and operational oversight of the franchise network, ensuring Elders Insurance Underwriting Agency Pty Ltd meets its obligations as a franchisor while enabling compliant, sustainable commercial performance.

Your new role
As Franchise Operations Manager your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure compliance with all franchising, consumer, competition, AFSL and related regulatory obligations applicable to franchise operations.
- Manage the lifecycle of franchise agreements, including renewals, transfers, acquisitions, exits, mergers and variations.
- Act as the primary operational owner for franchisor obligations under the Franchising Code of Conduct.
- Partner with Legal, Risk and Compliance teams to identify, manage and mitigate legal, regulatory and reputational risks across the franchise network.
- Design and maintain fit‑for‑purpose operational frameworks, policies and procedures to support compliant franchise operations at scale.
- Ensure authorised representatives and franchisees operate within approved systems, delegations and governance arrangements.
- Oversee audits, reviews and assurance activity across franchise operations, addressing findings and systemic issues.
- Serve as a key escalation point for complex franchise operational or legal issues.
- Lead or coordinate responses to franchise disputes, complaints and regulatory matters in partnership with Legal and external counsel.
- Build trusted relationships with franchisees, balancing commercial performance with strong conduct and customer expectations.
- Support executive and board reporting on franchise risk, compliance and performance indicators.
- Identify opportunities to streamline franchise processes, reduce manual/legal burden and improve operational effectiveness.
- Support transformation initiatives relating to systems, data, reporting and franchise enablement.
- Build internal capability across franchise governance, legal literacy and risk awareness.
About you
To be successful in this role you have experience in franchising operations, legal or regulated distribution models.
You will also have:
- Strong knowledge of Australian franchising and insurance regulatory frameworks.
- Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for effectively managing relationships with franchisees and corporate teams.
- Proven ability to translate legal requirements into practical operations.
- Proven experience managing complex contracts, compliance obligations and stakeholder relationships.
