About us: 

Glitch Productions is an independent animation studio based in Australia making original, long form animated shows distributed on Youtube. Our channel has over 18 million subscribers, tens of millions of views per episode and is still growing strong. Our studio is filled with incredibly talented and passionate artists that are determined to change the way animation is produced and treated in the industry. Our biggest IP; Digital Circus, has amassed over 350 million views on the pilot alone and we have a lot more still to come.

Role Information: 

We're looking for a talented Freelance 3D VFX Artist to join our Marketing Division on a 3-week contract to create high-quality visual effects across a range of animation styles. In this role, you'll produce dynamic effects for teasers, trailers, shorts, and marketing videos featured across our social media channels and the Glitch Productions YouTube channel, helping bring our stories to life through spectacular visuals.

Your duties will include:

  • Create high-quality 3D visual effects, including smoke, fire, water, explosions, magic, and environmental effects.
  • Develop VFX that align with the show's visual style and storytelling.
  • Integrate and optimise effects for animation shots within the production pipeline.
  • Collaborate with Directors, Supervisors, and other artists to deliver polished results.
  • Implement feedback and iterate on effects to meet creative and technical requirements.
  • Troubleshoot VFX and simulation issues as needed.
  • Maintain organised files and follow studio pipeline and production standards.
  • Deliver high-quality work within agreed production deadlines.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience creating high-quality visual effects for animation, film, television, or games.
  • Strong understanding of simulation workflows, particles, dynamics, and procedural effects.
  • Experience with industry-standard VFX software such as Unreal Engine, Houdini, Maya, or similar tools.
  • A solid understanding of lighting, rendering, and compositing principles as they relate to VFX.
  • Strong artistic eye for timing, scale, motion, and visual impact.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced production environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to receive and implement feedback.
