The Strategy & Insight Team is integrated within account teams in the agency, providing our clients with strategy & data-driven insight and decision making at the key stages of:
- Strategic content, media, campaign planning
- Target audience generation
- Insight generation for ideation
- Client workshops
- KPI selection and targeting setting
- Post campaign evaluation
The Strategy & Insight Team also conducts bespoke, stand-alone research projects designed to help our clients understand their audience, brand and category.
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE WE’RE LOOKING TO FILL AT 1000HEADS APAC
The 1000heads team in APAC is looking for a Strategist to work from one of our current APAC offices to help service our clients across the region. It is a crucial role in supporting the Social Strategy Director and the broader team at 1000heads.
We're seeking a strategist who excels at translating complex ideas into clear, actionable strategies. The ideal candidate will be passionate about social media's role in transforming brands, with a talent for crafting compelling narratives and collaborating effectively with creative teams. They should be solutions-driven, confident in vocalizing ideas, and able to establish themselves as a trusted strategic partner for clients and internal teams alike.
This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting project strategies for leading global brands, contributing to cutting-edge social-first campaigns in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Our current client roster includes the likes of Google, Cisco, GItLab, SAP, Isuzu, UNIQLO, Meltwater, Live Nation - all great brands with high expectations - and you will have the chance to meet, learn with and present to client leads from brands like these.

Role
As a Senior Strategist. you will be responsible for leading, developing & maintaining effective social communications strategies for our clients. This will involve developing a deep understanding of our clients’ business goals, marketing strategies and processes, partnering with them to identify how our work will drive innovative and transformative solutions that support their needs and help them to succeed.
You will be confident in leading client comms and becoming a trusted peer for senior clients. You will ensure the work delivered for clients is constantly aligned to the vision. You will work autonomously and in partnership with client leads, insights & community heads. You will be comfortable undertaking research and analysis that underpins
your recommendations with insight.
You will work closely with the insights function to steer and undertake audits that act as the foundations for strategy.
You will work closely with the community function to ensure any strategic recommendations can be implemented effectively. You will ensure that measurement is meaningful by recommending core and bespoke metrics to track to help us to optimise and evolve strategic recommendations over time. You will be commercially minded, working with the Function Lead to help drive growth for the function, productise strategy, evolve and develop the
function proposition and maintain/grow beyond target utilisation levels.
Responsibilities
Strategic Development and Support:
- Craft comprehensive social-first strategies for clients
- Conduct research and analysis to inform strategy development, including competitive audits and cultural trend mapping
- Support the creation of social frameworks, content pillars, and rollout plans for client campaigns
- Contribute strategic insights to new business pitches and RFPs
Insight Generation and Application: - Collaborate with insights manager to interpret findings and translate them into actionable strategies
- Identify and communicate consumer behavior trends across digital platforms and broader culture
- Apply platform-specific knowledge to maximize potential for reaching and engaging target audiences
Creative Collaboration and Brief Writing: - Develop clear, compelling strategic narratives that inspire both internal teams and clients
- Write and deliver inspiring creative briefs that lead to innovative social-first ideas
- Work closely with creative teams to ensure strategic alignment in campaign and always-on content development
Client Engagement and Presentation: - Be the strategic voice in client meetings and workshops
- Prepare and deliver strategic recommendations to clients, adapting approaches as needed
- Establish yourself as a trusted strategic advisor on client accounts
Performance Analysis and Optimization: - Interpret performance data to evaluate content and campaign effectiveness
- Provide strategic recommendations for optimizing ongoing campaigns and content strategies
- Demonstrate the value of social strategies within broader marketing efforts
Trend Monitoring and Innovation: - Stay abreast of social media trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies
- Contribute to the agency's culture of innovation by proposing new approaches to social strategy
- Help develop thought leadership content to position 1000heads as a leader in social transformation
Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Participate in strategic planning sessions with various teams (e.g., account management, creative, data)
- Ensure strategic alignment across all aspects of client work
- Support knowledge sharing and skill development within the strategy team
SKILLS YOU WILL (PROBABLY) NEED TO DO THIS ROLE WELL
- 3-5 years experience in social media strategy or communication planning roles.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent storytelling and presentation skills.
- Great stakeholder management skills
- Deep understanding of major social media platforms and their strategic applications.
- Experience in developing social content strategies and campaign frameworks backed by audience and platform data.
- Ability to interpret and apply data insights
- Adaptability to work across various industries and client types.
- Advanced experience with social listening platforms
- Advanced knowledge of audience analysis platforms like Global Web Index, and an awareness of the wealth of data sources available to you
- Methodology development for both primary research and performance measurement
- A demonstrable ability to look beyond the numbers towards interpretation, recommendation and action
- An eye for detail, the ability spot flaws or mistakes in methods, reports and plans
