We are seeking a highly creative Front-End Developer with exceptional experience in WordPress and JavaScript for one of our Australian clients. This is a full-time remote position for a developer who has a strong eye for design, thrives on crafting extraordinary front-end experiences, and can bring bold creative concepts to life through elegant code.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and design visually stunning, highly responsive, and user-centric WordPress websites.
- Implement and customize themes, plugins, and front-end components with pixel-perfect precision.
- Work on extraordinary, design-driven websites — pushing creative boundaries while maintaining usability and performance.
- Collaborate with designers to translate complex UI/UX wireframes (from Figma or similar) into functional, responsive layouts.
- Optimise websites for speed, SEO, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Create and maintain custom JavaScript functionalities, enhancing the interactivity and usability of WordPress sites.
- Work closely with back-end developers to ensure seamless API integrations and efficient front-end workflows.
- Troubleshoot, test, and maintain the core product software to ensure strong optimization and functionality. Manage version control (GitHub/GitLab) and perform routine site maintenance, backups, and updates.
- Proactively contribute ideas to elevate design and user experience — we’re looking for someone who’s passionate about design excellence and innovation.
- Collaborate directly with client-side teams to ensure delivery aligns with brand standards and project goals.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience in WordPress front-end development.
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Proven expertise in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and responsive frameworks like Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, or Foundation.
- Advanced proficiency in custom WordPress theme and plugin development following W3C and WordPress coding standards.
- Strong grasp of UI/UX principles and a solid understanding of modern web design trends.
- Experience using Figma or similar tools to convert designs into interactive layouts.
- Ability to deliver extraordinary designs — someone who goes beyond templates and can create standout, modern visual experiences.
- Proven ability to transform design ideas into extraordinary digital experiences.
- Experience working with WooCommerce, custom post types, actions, hooks, and REST APIs.
- Strong debugging, testing, and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with Headless WordPress or hybrid JS-based front-end setups.
- Knowledge of SEO optimization and performance best practices.
- Prior experience working in a creative or digital agency environment.
- Familiarity with React or other modern JavaScript frameworks will be a strong plus
