Job Description

Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort are looking for a reliable and hands-on Gardener to support the upkeep and presentation of our landscaped areas on a full-time basis.

This role is essential in ensuring the gardens, grounds and outdoor areas of the property are maintained to a high standard, creating a safe, attractive and welcoming environment for guests and staff. The successful candidate will carry out routine gardening and grounds maintenance duties while working in a safe, environmentally responsible manner.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Carry out daily gardening and grounds maintenance tasks in line with property standards.
  • Maintain lawns, garden beds, hedges, trees and outdoor landscaped areas.
  • Operate gardening tools and equipment safely and professionally.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained and correctly stored after use.
  • Apply environmentally responsible gardening practices where possible.
  • Identify and report any hazards, safety risks or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Keep work areas always clean and tidy.
  • Support seasonal planting, pruning, mulching and general garden improvements as required.
  • Comply with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and all relevant regulations.

Shift Details (subject to change):

  • Monday to Friday
  • Start and finish times to be confirmed
  • Occasional weekend or public holiday work may be required on an ad hoc basis

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):

Monday - Friday: $27.97 per hour

Saturday: $34.96 per hour

Sunday: $41.96 per hour

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience in gardening, landscaping or grounds maintenance.
  • Knowledge of safe use of gardening tools and equipment.
  • Understanding of basic plant care, lawn maintenance and garden upkeep.
  • A strong awareness of Workplace Health and Safety practices.
  • The ability to work independently and manage daily tasks effectively.
  • A reliable work ethic with good attention to detail.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual outdoor work.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the overall presentation of the property.
  • Horticulture or related qualifications are highly regarded.
