As the Global Head of Tax you will oversee Aristocrat's tax function, including compliance, reporting, risk management, and strategy. You will collaborate with global finance and commercial leaders to ensure adherence to the tax governance framework and support sound management and investment decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing team across multiple geographies, fostering professional growth and ensuring strong business partnerships.

  • Global Tax Compliance: Oversee timely and accurate tax reporting and compliance, including corporate income tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing, across all jurisdictions.

  • Strategic Advisory: Advise the Board and senior management on tax implications of key business activities such as mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.

  • Tax Planning: Manage global tax planning, compliance, and provisions while aligning financial forecasts with tax cashflows and outcomes.

  • Risk Mitigation: Develop and enforce policies to mitigate tax risks and maintain a robust internal control environment in compliance with global regulations.

  • Process Transformation: Drive tax team advancements through process optimization, automation, and system enhancements.

  • Regulatory Monitoring: Stay ahead of legislative changes and industry trends, collaborating with external advisors to ensure sustainable tax positions.

  • Regulator Engagement: Build transparent, collaborative relationships with tax regulators to support Aristocrat’s global compliance.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with treasury, financial controllership, and legal teams to design and execute sustainable capital and funds management strategies.

What We're Looking For

  • 15+ years in tax roles with at least 5+ years in a global tax leadership position

  • CA/CPA qualified preferred

  • Strong tax advisory experience, preferably in corporate international tax or a similar commercial tax role

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and make strategic recommendations

  • Proficient with tax software and financial systems

  • Thrives in a global fast-paced organisation with multi-regional consolidation capabilities

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to translate technical and detailed information into a clear, concise, easy to understand messages

  • Critical thinker willing to challenge the status quo

  • Well organised and proactive with ability to work in fast-paced changing environment, including management of multiple projects and key deliverables to tight deadlines

  • This position will primarily work Australian hours, but will require to be flexible to work with internal and external stakeholders in various global time zones, with some travel required to meet team and stakeholders

We work flexibly here at Aristocrat and have a hybrid work model. This role will be based out of our head office in North Ryde with free onsite parking provided, you will have the flexibility to work in the office and from home.
