About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and strategic Global Payroll Manager to lead the global payroll function and manage compensation operations across our international footprint. In this critical role, you’ll ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll execution across six countries for over 500 employees, both through direct employment and Employer of Record (EOR) models. 

You’ll lead a team of 4 direct reports working cross-functionally with Finance, People, Legal, and external partners to build scalable processes and deliver a consistent employee experience worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Global Payroll Operations: Manage the end-to-end payroll process across Australia, the UK, Germany, Japan, the Philippines, and South Africa, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local tax, labor, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage & Develop a High-Performing Team: Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4 payroll and compensation specialists in Manila, fostering continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Oversee EOR & Direct Employment Payrolls: Ensure smooth payroll execution across both direct employment and Employer of Record (EOR) models, working closely with third-party providers and internal stakeholders to maintain data integrity and service quality.
  • Compensation Compliance & Reporting: Stay current on global and local employment laws, statutory reporting requirements, and tax regulations. Ensure compliance and manage audits and risk mitigation across jurisdictions.
  • Process Optimization & Automation: Identify and implement process improvements to increase payroll accuracy, efficiency, and scalability, leveraging technology and automation where possible.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with People, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to ensure alignment, data integrity, and seamless employee lifecycle processes.
  • Compensation Insights & Benchmarking: Support global compensation benchmarking, salary review processes, and total rewards strategy with relevant payroll and compensation data.
What You’ll Bring
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in global payroll and compensation management, with exposure to multiple countries and employment models.
  • Demonstrated experience managing payroll operations across multiple geographies, including Australia, UK, Germany, Japan, Philippines, and South Africa.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing remote teams.
  • Deep understanding of international payroll compliance, employment tax, and statutory benefits.
  • Experience working with EOR providers and understanding of employment models across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proficiency with payroll platforms and systems (Deel, Employment Hero), HRIS platforms (e.g. BambooHR), and Excel.
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and a process-oriented mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and cultures.
