Are you a recent graduate with a passion for technology, cyber security, and solving problems?

At Datacom, we're looking for a Graduate Systems Analyst to join our Security Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to build hands-on experience working alongside experienced cyber security professionals who protect and support some of Australia's most important organisations.

You don't need years of experience. We're looking for curious minds, strong problem-solvers, and people who are eager to learn.

As part of our Managed Operations Security team, you'll receive training, mentoring, and exposure to real-world security operations while developing the technical and professional skills needed for a successful career in cyber security.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you'll work closely with experienced team members to:

  • Monitor security systems and technology platforms to help identify potential threats and issues
  • Investigate alerts and incidents under guidance from senior analysts
  • Support the maintenance and operation of security tools and systems
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Help document processes, procedures, and technical solutions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the team
  • Learn industry best practices in cyber security, risk management, and operational excellence
  • Collaborate with team members across Datacom to deliver positive outcomes for our customers

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Australian Citizenship (required to be eligible for Baseline Security Clearance)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A genuine interest in cyber security and technology
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Recent completion of a degree in: Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline

Nice to Have

You don't need to have all of these, but exposure to any of the following is beneficial:

  • Windows, Linux or Unix operating systems
  • Networking fundamentals
  • Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud)
  • Security concepts such as SIEM, threat monitoring, incident response or vulnerability management
  • Scripting or programming experience (PowerShell, Python, SQL or similar)
  • Industry certifications such as: Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals, Azure Fundamentals, ITIL Foundation
