At Aurecon, we are optimistic about the future. We are thinkers, solvers, and collaborators who work with our clients to deliver the infrastructure and assets that strengthen communities and create a sustainable future.

What you’ll do

As a Lead in our Grid Advisory team, you’ll help grow Aurecon’s national Grid Advisory capability, working with market-leading energy advisors and deep technical experts across our engineering teams. This is a senior, market-facing role where you’ll support clients at the front end of major projects, helping them navigate complex grid, connection, network planning and energy transition challenges.

You’ll work across a diverse client base including power generation and storage, transmission and distribution, data centres, government, transport, defence, water, resources, telecommunications and financiers.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead grid advisory engagements that shape early-stage strategy, feasibility and investment decisions.
  • Advise on network and load requirements, connection concepts, transmission and distribution planning, and infrastructure options analysis.
  • Support technical due diligence, procurement strategy, market engagement and red-flag risk assessments relating to grid connections and TNSP/DNSPs.
  • Support clients with technical due diligence, procurement strategy, market engagement and red-flag risk assessments relating to grid connections and TNSP/DNSPs.
  • Build trusted client relationships, help win work and provide technical leadership in a high-demand grid advisory market.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to strengthen the link between advisory-led work and engineering delivery, while shaping how Aurecon’s Grid Advisory capability develops nationally.

What you’ll bring:

You’ll bring an electrical engineering foundation and strong experience in grid advisory, energy, infrastructure or related consulting environments. You will have done the technical work, understand what good looks like, and be ready to guide others, shape strategy and influence clients.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A tertiary qualification in electrical engineering.
  • Strong grid advisory, network planning, grid connection or regulated network experience, ideally in the Australian market.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, stakeholder engagement, teamwork and report-writing skills.
  • Consulting, project leadership or team leadership experience, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Business development appetite and experience, with the ability to convert market demand into meaningful client outcomes.
  • Exposure to areas such as feasibility studies, concept design, unregulated connection assets, infrastructure cost benchmarks, power generation and storage technologies, emerging energy technologies, electricity markets or risk assessment.

How we support your growth

We believe your career should be a rewarding adventure. You will tackle some of the world’s most complex infrastructure challenges, in an environment that supports your ambitions, where we hold ourselves, and each other, to the highest standards.
