Job Description

We are looking for a high-performing Group Business Manager to lead our Nine Plus Direct Publishing sales teams across New South Wales and Victoria!

In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for driving the collective success of a high-energy sales force, overseeing 4 Business Managers and 2 Account Executives. Your mission is to translate high-level business objectives into actionable sales strategies, ensuring Nine Plus continues to dominate the Direct Publishing market across both print and digital assets.

Day to day you will:

  • Take ultimate accountability for the NSW and VIC revenue targets, developing and executing state-based sales strategies.
  • Provide direct coaching and professional development for your team of 6, fostering a high-performance culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Manage the sales pipeline across two states, ensuring accurate forecasting and resource allocation to meet and exceed monthly and quarterly goals.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for high-value Direct clients and internal stakeholders within the Publishing division.
  • Streamline workflows between Business Managers and Account Executives to ensure seamless campaign execution and superior client service.
  • Collaborate with product and editorial teams to identify new commercial opportunities within the Nine Publishing ecosystem.
  • Ensure the team upholds core Nine Publishing values while maintaining high levels of engagement and retention.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • Extensive experience in media sales management, with a track record of leading teams to hit complex revenue targets.
  • A strong understanding of the Victorian and NSW media landscapes and the nuances of Direct client behavior in both regions.
  • The ability to move beyond the day-to-day to identify long-term growth opportunities for the Nine Plus portfolio.
  • A natural ability to motivate, coach, and manage a diverse team of sales professionals and support staff.
  • Proficiency in interpreting data and market trends to provide accurate forecasting and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
