Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Shared Services, this is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving the strategic direction, performance and continuous improvement of a large, national credit team. Leading 4 direct reports and a team of approximately 40 indirect reports, you'll play a key role in strengthening credit governance, minimising risk, improving cash flow and supporting business growth.

You will lead the ongoing centralisation and standardisation of credit operations across Bapcor's diverse portfolio, ensuring efficient, scalable and robust processes that support both customers and the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Bapcor's national Credit & Accounts Receivable function, creating a high-performing, customer-focused team culture.
  • Develop and implement group-wide credit policies, collection strategies and credit risk frameworks that support growth while mitigating risk.
  • Drive the ongoing transformation and standardisation of credit processes across multiple business units and ERP systems.
  • Monitor and manage credit exposure, bad debt risk, working capital performance and collections effectiveness across the Group.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful management reporting, dashboards and performance metrics to support decision-making and governance.
  • Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, segregation of duties and fraud prevention processes are maintained across the function.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations and Business Unit leadership teams to identify process improvements and optimise customer credit management.
  • Lead key strategic projects, including credit centralisation initiatives, credit limit reviews and Shared Services transformation activities.

Qualifications

You are an experienced Credit leader with a passion for building high-performing teams, improving processes and driving business outcomes through effective risk management.

You will bring:

  • Significant experience leading large-scale Credit and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Proven success managing high-volume transactional teams within complex, multi-business environments.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk management, collections, working capital management and financial controls.
  • Experience working across multiple ERP systems and leading process transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change across a large organisation.

Highly Regarded

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting Shared Services transformation or centralisation programs.
