About the Role
As the Group Financial Controller, you will lead the organisation’s financial control function, ensuring compliance with AASB, IFRS, and ASX reporting standards. You will drive the implementation and continuous improvement of finance policies and procedures, lead statutory compliance activities, and oversee internal controls and risk management across the group. Manage month-end, half-year, and full-year reporting cycles, delivering accurate, insightful financial reports to senior leadership.
Additionally, you will champion a control environment, lead audit processes, and support financial performance analysis in collaboration with Commercial Finance. You’ll also be responsible for developing and mentoring a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and sound financial governance.

Your Focus
- Be our technical expert, providing advice based on accounting standards and tax rules.
- Implementation and improvement of finance policy and procedures.
- Lead the annual review of all financial accounting policies.
- Lead the operational audit processes and statutory compliance of all activities.
- Assist with inputs into financial data and reports required to support Company reporting (annual reports, ASX releases, etc.).
- Improve rigour and confidence in internal controls, reviewing existing processes and designing/ implementing improvements. Maintain the company’s internal risk register relating to Finance activities.
- Lead the financial, statutory and ASX reporting for the company.
- Lead the month-end, half year and full year financial accounting reporting processes across the company. This should include insights, watch outs and recommendations on performance deviations
- Champion financial accounting activities as required to ensure accuracy, integrity and timeliness in the P&L, Cash Flow and Balance sheet.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting and analysis for the Executive team and the Board, emphasizing numbers need to be correct the first time.
- Lead the financial controller team to excellence. Lead by example to our culture of high performance.
About You
- Deep understanding and demonstration of AASB (Australian Accounting Standards Boarding), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and ASX (Australian Securities Exchange) reporting standards, with the ability to interpret and apply complex accounting principles.
- Demonstration and knowledge of compliance requirements and audit processes, with experience managing annual reporting cycles.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and improve internal control frameworks and manage financial risk registers.
- Advanced skills in preparing accurate financial statements, board reports, and providing insight-driven variance analysis.
- Track record of streamlining and automating finance operations and evaluating systems for efficiency and suitability.
- Demonstrated experience in building, mentoring, and leading high-performing finance teams, with clear objective setting and performance management.
