The Head of Group Finance Planning and Performance (FP&A) is a key leadership role within the Finance community that sits at the centre of the Qantas Group’s strategic and financial decision-making. This role leads the Group’s planning, forecasting and performance management agenda, shaping long-term financial strategy, investment priorities and business performance outcomes. Working closely with senior executives, Segment CFOs and the Group Leadership Team, the role provides insightful commercial advice and drives the delivery of Group objectives through robust financial planning, analysis and performance management.
In this role you will lead a high-performing team, and be responsible for overseeing the Group’s budgeting and three to five-year planning processes, challenging and influencing business performance, identifying strategic growth and efficiency opportunities, and ensuring effective financial governance and risk management. Success in the role requires a commercially astute finance leader who can translate complex data into clear business insights, build strong stakeholder relationships across the organisation, and confidently influence decision-making at the most senior levels of the Group.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- 15+ years' finance leadership experience in large, complex organisations, building high-performing teams and future talent.
- Proven success leading enterprise planning, forecasting and long-term financial strategy.
- Strong commercial acumen, with a track record of turning insights into business outcomes.
- Experienced advisor to senior executives on performance, investment and growth decisions.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with credibility and influence at Executive and Board level.
- Demonstrated success driving performance improvement, transformation and value creation.
- Highly analytical, with the ability to simplify complexity and influence through clear insights.
- Strong experience in financial governance, risk management and enterprise performance reporting.
- Collaborative and influential leader, capable of aligning diverse stakeholders behind shared objectives.
- CA, CPA or equivalent qualifications, supported by tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
