About Us

At Splend, we're on a mission to fundamentally change the way people own and operate a vehicle. With a strategic focus on rideshare, we provide our customers with straightforward, no-strings-attached access to vehicle ownership. But we aren't just about vehicle ownership. We're also fast-tracking the transition to green mobility, leading the way globally in reducing the carbon footprint of the transportation sector by transitioning our fleet to electric vehicles.

You'll be excited to work in this role if...
  • You thrive in fast paced, operational environments and love getting into the detail to make things run smoothly.

  • You're energised by leading teams, managing supplier relationships, and driving performance through clear processes and accountability.

  • You're ready to make a real impact at a growing company, where your work directly shapes the experience of our customers and the efficiency of our operations.

About the role

As Head of Operations, you'll lead our national hub network across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Gold Coast and Adelaide - driving safe, efficient and commercially disciplined operations at scale. You'll lead a team of Managers, setting the standards and building the capability that underpins Splend's growth across Australia. You'll also own fleet disposal strategy - ensuring vehicles exit the fleet at the right time and value to maximise return and keep our fleet profile aligned to commercial targets.

What you'll be doing

    • Leading and developing six Hub Managers across the national network, driving consistent operating standards, safety and service delivery in every market

    • Working alongside the National Procurement Manager on vehicle acquisition, parts and supplier contracts, including OEM negotiations, to deliver national agreements that improve cost and service outcomes

    • Owning the national operations strategy - standardising processes, driving continuous improvement and lifting productivity and customer experience across all hubs

    • Coaching and developing your leadership team, building a high-performing operations function and a strong succession pipeline

    • Owning the national operations budget and cost base, ensuring WHS compliance and regulatory requirements are met in every state

    • Leading fleet disposal strategy to maximise vehicle return value and keep the fleet's age and condition profile aligned to commercial targets

What you'll bring to Splend

    • 10+ years' operational leadership experience, including experience leading leaders across multiple sites or locations.

    • Experience in retail, automotive, logistics, or maintenance sectors, ideally within a scale up environment.

    • Strong analytical skills with confidence managing budgets, maintenance contracts and procurement agreements.

    • The ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in high pressure situations.

    • A process driven and problem solving mindset with the commercial awareness to balance cost control and service quality.
