Job Description

As Head of Pricing and Margin, you'll shape how services are priced, billed and managed across Greencross Vets' General Practice, Emergency & Critical Care and Specialty network. You'll lead enterprise pricing strategy, drive margin improvement and play a critical role in helping build the commercial foundations that will support the business for years to come.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager, Commercial Performance, you'll lead the development and execution of Greencross' enterprise pricing and margin strategy.

This is a highly visible leadership role working across Clinical, Operations, Finance, Procurement, Data and Technology teams to improve commercial performance, strengthen governance and support strategic decision-making.

You will also be involved in commercial design and governance elements of our new PIMS. You'll help shape the future service catalogue, billing structures, pricing methodology and governance framework that will underpin how services are delivered and charged across the business.

Who This Role Would Suit

This role is designed for someone who understands veterinary healthcare from the inside out.

We're looking for a commercial leader with deep industry experience and a strong appreciation of the relationship between clinical care, client value and business performance. Success in this role will come from understanding how veterinary teams work and how commercial decisions influence both client experience and clinical delivery.

You may be:

  • A veterinarian who has progressed into practice leadership, operations, commercial or executive management
  • A veterinary industry leader with experience managing clinics, hospitals or multi-site operations
  • A commercial, finance or operational leader from the veterinary sector with exposure to pricing, service economics and business performance

You don't need to have done everything this role encompasses. What matters most is a strong understanding of the veterinary industry, the ability to think commercially and the capability to influence and lead change in a complex environment.

Ideally, you'll bring a combination of:

  • Experience leading commercial, operational or transformation initiatives
  • An understanding of veterinary service delivery, clinic economics and client care
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders and work across multiple functions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience building capability, leading teams or driving organisational change

Most importantly, you'll be excited by the opportunity to help shape the future commercial model of one of Australia's largest veterinary care providers.

What You'll Lead

  • Enterprise pricing and margin strategy
  • Commercial performance and profitability initiatives
  • Pricing governance, billing accuracy and charge capture
  • Business cases, financial modelling and commercial decision support
  • Commercial design of the PIMS service catalogue and billing framework
  • Margin improvement opportunities across services, clinics and hospitals
  • Reporting, analytics and performance measurement
  • Leadership and development of the pricing team

Why Join Greencross?

This is a rare opportunity to combine veterinary industry expertise, commercial leadership and large-scale transformation in a role with genuine enterprise-wide impact.

You'll work directly with executive leaders, influence major strategic decisions and play a key role in one of the most significant transformation programs underway in the business. The outcomes you deliver will influence how veterinary services are priced, managed and delivered across the network for years to come.

Alongside meaningful work, you'll benefit from:

  • Enterprise-wide influence across General Practice, Emergency & Critical Care and Specialty
  • A pivotal role in our PIMS transformation program
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
  • Genuine autonomy and ownership
  • Team member discounts across Greencross and Petbarn
  • Professional development and career growth opportunities
  • A collaborative, values-led culture where expertise and innovation are valued

If you're looking for an opportunity to combine your veterinary industry knowledge with commercial leadership and transformational impact, it's hard to find a role with broader scope or greater opportunity to leave a lasting legacy.

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you're a veterinary industry leader who enjoys solving complex commercial challenges, influencing strategy and delivering meaningful change, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now and help shape the future of pricing, commercial performance and sustainable growth at Greencross Vets. Reach out to Angie Goldman, Head of Talent, to learn more: 0412 966 031 or [email protected]
