The Role

Fisher & Paykel is one of New Zealand’s best-known brands, a global company with a strong heritage and ambitious plans. Our New Zealand origins, curious nature and passion to develop luxury products designed around people are core elements that make us unique.

Driven by our brand values of being trusted, innovative, generous, curious and sustainably minded, as a team we take a collaborative approach, have a culture where ideas are heard, and are united in our leading goal to be the world's most human-centred, #1 premium appliance brand.

The Opportunity

This is one of the most commercially significant sales leadership roles within Fisher & Paykel. As our Head of Sales, you'll own and grow some of our largest and most strategic retail partnerships across both the Fisher & Paykel and Haier brands. With full P&L accountability, you'll shape long-term commercial strategy, influence executive-level customer relationships and deliver sustainable growth across complex, multi-banner retail environments.

Working closely with Product, Marketing, Supply Chain and Operations, you'll bring together the right people, insights and commercial initiatives to strengthen customer partnerships, grow market share and maximise profitability. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact on one of New Zealand's most iconic global brands.

If you thrive on building trusted partnerships, negotiating complex commercial outcomes and leading with both commercial discipline and collaboration, we'd love to hear from you.

This is where you come in

Success in this role comes from balancing commercial excellence with relationship leadership.

You'll own the commercial performance of your portfolio, developing strategic account plans that deliver sustainable revenue growth, profitable market share and outstanding customer outcomes. You'll confidently negotiate trading agreements, optimise promotional investment and ensure every commercial decision delivers measurable return.

Working across a broad internal network, you'll bring together Product, Marketing, Field Sales, Operations and Supply Chain to create compelling customer strategies, improve forecasting accuracy and ensure flawless execution across every retail banner.

So who are you?

You're a commercially astute sales leader who understands that long-term partnerships are built through trust, strategic thinking and consistently delivering results.

You know how to navigate complexity, influence senior stakeholders and bring cross-functional teams together behind a common objective. Comfortable operating at executive level, you're equally confident analysing commercial performance as you are leading important customer conversations.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Significant senior Key Account Management or Sales Leadership experience managing large, complex retail partnerships with full P&L accountability.
  • A proven ability to negotiate major commercial agreements, optimise trade investment and deliver profitable growth.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing revenue, margin, forecasting and investment performance.
  • Experience working across Product, Marketing, Supply Chain and Operations to execute integrated commercial strategies.
  • A collaborative leadership style that develops people, builds capability and creates high-performing teams.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional influencing, communication and relationship-building skills.

What we offer

This is a rare opportunity to step into a newly created senior commercial role with significant visibility and influence. As a member of the Retail Sales leadership team, you will help shape the future of our retail partnerships and build the foundations for ongoing growth. For the right person, this role offers a genuine pathway toward future senior leadership opportunities.

If you are a commercially driven sales leader who thrives in complex retail environments and is ready to make a significant impact, we would love to hear from you.

We can give you the rare opportunity to move into a large, complex global organisation, part of the global Haier parent company, where you will gain wide exposure across the business. This role has diverse and exciting challenges and the chance to continually learn and develop.

Along with a competitive salary, flexible working, ongoing development, as a valued member of our team, you’ll enjoy generous discounts on Fisher & Paykel and Haier products, access to our leading Whanau/Family leave offering and free onsite parking.  All this, coupled with great leadership and backed by a world leading heritage brand that is consistently ranked as one of New Zealand’s most Trusted Brands… year after year.
