About this opportunity:
The Head of Strategic Engagement is a senior leadership role within the Optus account, reporting to the Key Account Manager (KAM). The role drives executive engagement, cross-domain alignment and strategic deal closure across Ericsson's partnership with Optus.
Serve as a trusted strategic partner to both Ericsson and Optus leadership teams, helping translate business priorities into long-term technology and transformation outcomes. You will shape Ericsson's strategic partnership with Optus, working at the forefront of 5G, AI, 6G and network transformation across strategy, technology and commercial leadership.
What you will do:
  • Coordinate and strengthen Ericsson's engagement with Optus Executive GM's and GM's, ensuring consistent executive-level dialogue across technology, operations and commercial domains.
  • Drive Ericsson's strategic narrative and value proposition across 5G, Cloud, Autonomous Network, AI, differentiated connectivity and enterprise growth.
  • Align multiple domains (RAN, Core, Cloud, OSS/BSS) to present a consistent and unified Ericsson position.
  • Support the development and closure of strategic cross-domain opportunities by aligning executive stakeholders, business outcomes and Ericsson capabilities.
  • Facilitate account strategy and planning with account and domain leaders, helping consolidate priorities into a unified customer strategy.
  • Coordinate executive governance forums, ensuring strategic alignment, clear accountability and measurable outcomes.
  • Create and own the annual executive engagement agenda for Optus, including executive visits, workshops, strategic engagements and outcome-focused content.
  • Work in close partnership with Domain Sales Managers and Account Managers, who retain ownership of pipeline development, opportunity management and commercial negotiations.
  • Collaborate with CTOs to align technical strategy with executive-level business outcomes.
  • Partner with Delivery and Operations leadership to ensure execution aligns with customer expectations and value delivery.
  • Act as delegate to the KAM from time to time, supporting executive engagement, governance and strategic account leadership.

The skills you bring:
  • Extensive experience in telecom or technology industries.
  • Strong strategic and business skills, including executive engagement, credibility, stakeholder influence and customer strategy.
  • Trusted advisor mindset, with the ability to build confidence, collaborate across domains and align customer and Ericsson priorities.
  • Strong understanding of telecom priorities, business drivers and investment decision-making.
  • Ability to lead strategic conversations, influence senior stakeholders and connect business, technology and customer outcomes.
  • Collaboration across technical and commercial domains, with confidence operating in complex matrix environments.
  • Desirable knowledge across RAN, Core, AI, autonomous networks and 6G, or the curiosity to quickly build understanding.
  • Confidence operating at executive level, influencing outcomes and building long-term strategic relationships.
  • Motivation to work on industry-defining transformation programs across business, technology and strategy.
  • Passion for creating tangible impact on the customer's future direction and strategic partnership.
