We’re supporting a rapidly expanding technology business operating across Australia and New Zealand as they strengthen their in‑house legal function.


They’re looking for an experienced Legal Counsel who can operate as a trusted adviser to the business and provide leadership across a broad regulatory and commercial landscape.


You will partner directly with senior stakeholders, influence operational and strategic decision‑making, and help shape the systems, processes, and frameworks that underpin a high‑growth, customer‑centric organisation. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and the challenge of advising in a dynamic environment where technology, financial services, and consumer products intersect.


Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Leading legal support across commercial, corporate, privacy, marketing, financial services, and IP workstreams
  • Providing strategic guidance to executives on risk, governance, and regulatory obligations
  • Managing external counsel and overseeing complex matters
  • Supporting the development of legal systems, templates, processes, and training
  • Acting as a senior point of escalation for cross‑functional teams


About you:

  • Experienced lawyer with a minimum of 6years PQE in general commercial law with strong commercial instincts
  • Background in financial services, technology, or other regulated sectors (or a readiness to step into this environment)
  • Confident liaising with senior leaders and translating legal concepts into practical guidance
  • Proactive, solutions‑oriented, and comfortable in environments of change
