What you’ll be doing:

At Sime Group, safety is at the heart of everything we do. We're seeking an experienced HSE Training Specialist to design, develop and continuously improve HSE learning programs and training content across our operations. This role is ideally suited to someone with a background in instructional design, learning development or training systems who enjoys building learning solutions from the ground up.

Working closely with operational leaders, HSE professionals and subject matter experts, you'll translate complex technical and safety requirements into engaging learning experiences that support compliance, capability development and positive safety outcomes. You will also:

  • Design and develop HSE training programs,

  • Develop assessments, facilitator guides, participant resources and other learning materials.

  • Conduct training needs analyses and identify capability gaps across the business.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to convert technical and safety information into practical learning solutions.

  • Evaluate learning effectiveness and implement continuous improvements to training content.

  •  Monitor training records, compliance reporting and learning management system data.

  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of HSE learning systems and processes.

  • Coordinate the development of learning assets with external providers where required.

What you’ll need:  

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing training programs, assessments and learning resources.

  • Experience creating learning content from concept through to implementation.

  • Ability to translate complex technical and safety information into engaging learning materials.

  • Experience within mining, industrial, manufacturing, construction or similar environments.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, project management and communication skills.
