Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager – APAC is responsible for executing the people strategy across the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring alignment with global HR initiatives while addressing the unique regulatory, cultural, and operational needs of local markets.
The HR Manager will balance regional HR leadership with hands-on operational execution, supporting both business growth and a high-performing, engaged workforce.

What You’ll Do
Key responsibilities
Translate and implement HQ HR strategies, policies, and programs across the APAC region, ensuring alignment with global standards while adapting to local regulatory and cultural requirements
Act as the regional steward of global HR initiatives, driving consistent people practices across multiple countries while maintaining compliance with local employment legislation.
Provide advice, guidance, and support on all HR matters, including employee relations, talent management, performance management, and compensation.
Manage payroll, benefit plans, and leave management for entire APAC region. Including EOR relationships.
Ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation including the Fair Work Act 2009, Fair Work Commission requirements, and relevant Modern Awards and enterprise agreements.
Ensure compliance with Australian requirements including superannuation, leave entitlements, and statutory benefits.
Coordinating with external counsel for country-specific employment law.
Employee Onboarding and Offboarding.
Support organizational changes, process improvements, and HR program implementation.
Maintain and leverage HR systems to ensure accurate employee data and reporting.
Use HR metrics and analytics to inform decision-making and identify trends.
Provide coaching and support to managers on handling workplace matters effectively and fairly.
Promote positive workplace culture and adherence to company values.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Supports talent management initiatives, including talent assessment, succession planning, and leadership development.
Works closely with management and team members to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
Provide regional insights and feedback to HQ HR leadership, influencing global programs to better reflect APAC market dynamics and workforce needs.
What You’ll Bring
Minimum Qualifications
7-10+ years’ experience in human resources, including multi-country HR support.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in resolving complex employee relations issues.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced Excel skills are required.
Experience with HRIS systems. Comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR practices across APAC markets.
Experience partnering with senior leaders in a regional or international organization.
Demonstrated ability to manage employee relations issues and organizational change.
Experience working in a global or matrixed environment.
Works well in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
Ability to build solid connections with key stakeholders and influence major decision-makers.
Solid time management skills, sense of urgency, detail-oriented, organization, and prioritization.
Proven ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
Ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines. Process driven.
Strong analytical skills. Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting a global organization and/or airlines/hospitality.
Professional credential (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP)
Second language desired.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Full time, Monday through Friday, normal core business hours and as needed on nights and weekends. Hybrid schedule requiring minimum 3 days in the office.

Compensation
Good faith annual salary range for this position is $125,000K AUD - $137,000K AUD and is commensurate with experience and location.
