The Role
In this role, you will work with clients in Australia across various industries, including finance, healthcare, and government, to architect and implement IAM solutions that meet both business and regulatory needs. The Identity and Access Management Architect will be responsible for integrating security solutions to manage user identities, access controls, and authentication across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments. You will be pivotal in advising clients on how IAM tools and technologies can assist in protecting sensitive data.
The role will involve working closely with key stakeholders to design secure access control policies, leveraging tools like Microsoft Entra, Okta, SailPoint, and Ping Identity. As part of your responsibilities, you will also ensure that organisations are leveraging cloud-based IAM solutions that comply with data sovereignty requirements.
Collaboration will be your forte, as you work closely with clients to understand their unique security requirements and assess their current security posture. Armed with this knowledge, you'll provide expert guidance and recommendations on the best security practices, risk management strategies, and robust security policies that will fortify their defenses.
You won't stop at providing advice; you'll roll up your sleeves and get hands-on. Designing and implementing security controls, policies, and procedures will be your playground. You'll work alongside cross-functional teams to deploy state-of-the-art technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, access controls, and encryption technologies, ensuring a comprehensive security framework.

Armed with your extensive knowledge, you'll conduct thorough security assessments, leaving no stone unturned in identifying potential security breaches. Your findings will serve as the foundation for meticulous security audits and reviews, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. Your reports and findings will be the catalyst for management decisions and actions.

Who You Are

Required Skills:
· Expertise in IAM solutions such as Okta, SailPoint, Ping Identity, and Microsoft Identity.
· Deep understanding of IAM protocols (e.g., SSO, MFA, RBAC, LDAP, SAML).
· In-depth knowledge of Australian Security and Privacy Principles and the impact of data sovereignty laws on identity management solutions.
· Knowledge and understanding of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and NIST SP 800-63.
· Strong understanding of cloud IAM solutions, including AWS IAM, Azure Active Directory, and Google Cloud IAM.
· Experience in integrating IAM with cloud environments, enterprise applications/systems, and enterprise security infrastructure.
Required Experience:
· Minimum 8 years of experience in designing and implementing IAM systems, including at least 5 years of working with Australian clients.
· Demonstrated expertise in building IAM architectures that comply with Australian Security and Privacy requirements and industry best practices.
· Experience with cloud-based identity management solutions in line with Australian cloud data sovereignty requirements.
· Proven success in delivering IAM solutions to large enterprise clients, especially in regulated sectors like finance, healthcare, and government.
· Familiarity with Australian Federal and State government regulations.
- Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain AGSVA security clearance.
