Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.  

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security. 

We currently have an opportunity for an ILS Manager in Garden Island, Sydney, NSW, to support logistics and sustainment activities within a complex maritime sustainment and integration environment, on a 12 month maximum term basis.

What You’ll Do 

These roles offer a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including: 

  • Develop and implement logistics and materiel support arrangements across ship sustainment activities, including Government Furnished Equipment processes.
  • Coordinate outfitting, allowance, provisioning and load-out activities to support set-to-work, trials and vessel delivery.
  • Establish and manage supply chain, warehousing, stock control and inventory arrangements with sustainment Primes and integrators.
  • Coordinate the delivery and traceability of equipment into the sustainment environment, including cataloguing, codification and logistics data quality.
  • Work with program teams, industry partners and logistics stakeholders to develop practical procurement and outfitting strategies and improve delivery outcomes.

 

What You’ll Bring  

  • Demonstrated experience in Integrated Logistics Support, logistics management or materiel sustainment within a complex delivery environment.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain, inventory, warehousing, provisioning and equipment management processes.
  • Experience working with sustainment Primes, integrators, program teams and external logistics stakeholders.
  • The ability to operate autonomously, apply sound practical judgement and take ownership of work through to completion.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, timely and well-informed advice.

 

Due to the nature of the work, the successful applicant must be an Australian citizen and hold and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance, as required by the Commonwealth. In some cases, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may also be required.
