At Aurecon, we are optimistic about the future. We are thinkers, solvers, and collaborators who work with our clients to deliver the infrastructure and assets that strengthen communities and create a sustainable future.

What you’ll do

As an Industry Director in our Energy team based in Australia, you’ll lead market-facing growth across one of the country’s most important sectors. You’ll shape client strategies, build trusted executive relationships, and mobilise Aurecon’s networked business to create sustainable profitable growth, strong pipeline momentum and meaningful New Work Secured outcomes.

  • Lead sustainable profitable growth – Develop and execute industry strategies that build a strong pipeline, increase pipeline velocity and deliver ambitious New Work Secured (NWS) outcomes across both 12-month and longer-term horizons.
  • Build market influence and executive client relationships – Nurture a highly visible leadership presence across the Energy sector, developing trusted relationships with senior clients, partners and industry participants while positioning Aurecon as a Tier 1 partner in the energy transition.
  • Shape and convert strategic opportunities – Identify, prioritise and lead major pursuits and growth plays, using market insight, client intelligence and commercial focus to convert opportunities into measurable revenue, backlog and as-bid outcomes.
  • Mobilise Aurecon’s networked business – Lead strategic client portfolios and Client Engagement Teams, bringing together multidisciplinary capability from across Aurecon to solve complex client challenges and create differentiated value.
  • Lead through influence and collaboration – Create momentum across the business by inspiring teams, aligning interdependencies and strengthening ways of working so Aurecon can win and deliver at scale while maintaining a collaborative, high-performing culture.
What you’ll bring
  • Commercial growth leadership – A proven track record delivering significant revenue, sales or New Work Secured outcomes, with the confidence to be measured against ambitious growth targets.
  • Executive relationships and industry profile – Established senior client relationships across utilities, generators, renewable developers or adjacent energy markets, supported by a recognised presence in the Australian Energy sector.
  • Consulting and opportunity leadership – Experience in consulting, professional services or a similar market-facing environment, with strengths in shaping pursuits, leading major bids and converting client demand into work.
  • Strategic market judgement – Strong understanding of Energy market trends, client value chains, regulation, competitors and emerging opportunities, with the ability to turn insight into focused industry priorities.
  • Collaborative leadership style – The ability to influence without direct authority, build followership across diverse teams, strengthen Client Engagement Teams and create a positive, high-performing team dynamic.
