This role sits within the Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) payments product team and will be responsible for the instant payments product for Australia (AU) & New Zealand (NZ). Strong product management is critical to overall business management and entails a number of accountabilities from product maximisation, developing and executing product strategy, business P&L management, developing financial plans, providing subject matter expertise, and understanding and mitigating risks to Citi.

Reporting to the TTS Domestic Payments Head for AU & NZ, this role will provide key support to existing instant payments products and strategic/ scheme mandatory projects. The AU & NZ TTS business is entering a transformative period highlighted by an aggressive industry payments modernization plan, an enhanced regulatory environment, and a rapid deployment of value-added products and services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for driving the strategy and roadmap throughout the product lifecycle
  • Oversee day-to-day product management for instant payments products such as product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies as well as prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to achieve business results
  • Responsible for the Profit/Loss of the portfolio with defined revenue target
  • Contribute to Profit/Loss management including gainers/decliners analysis, revenue leakage review, and expense oversight
  • Provide support for delivery of key payments transformation initiatives
  • Responsible for bringing new solutions to the Australian and New Zealand market through the development of new products and product enhancements, including financial modelling, business case development, and sales and marketing strategy
  • Develop a strong working relationship with internal stakeholders, within AU & NZ and the Asia Pacific region more broadly
  • Engage with clients to understand their instant payments needs and pain points, providing tailored solutions
  • Key representative for AU & NZ payment scheme working groups and meetings
  • Responsible for audit, legal, compliance, regulatory reporting, and third-party management requirements of the product portfolio

KEY REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of instant payments, NPP, PayTo, and industry trends
  • Knowledge of Australia and New Zealand payments landscape and regulations
  • Knowledge of Citi TTS banking systems, technology platforms, and processes
  • Product management skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
