Position Description

We are looking for an Institutional Research Sale Associate. The role involves working with CITICS/CLSA sales team in the distribution of Australian and Offshore research product to institutional clients in Australia and offshore. The position also requires that the successful applicant will provide support to the Senior Sales Team. An associate should view their role as an integral part of the team’s success. Effective teamwork contributors; actively generate ideas for the teams development; communicate issues that require action; support each other and ask for help when needed.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Pitch stock ideas, industry trends and research analysis to investors

    • Generate Event Driven Sales notes for Hedge Fund clients

    • Generate ESG research

  • Strong teamwork in order to assist senior members of the sales team

  • Promote analysts - increase their connectivity with institutional clients

  • Idea generation ‐ Sales ideas to be created on top of marketing CLSA research product

  • Promote CLSA/CITICS events, conferences and corporate roadshows

  • Facilitate distribution of the CITICs product internally and externally

  • Accompany clients on company visits

  • Maintain sound working relationships with Corporates, Clients, the Government, and industry organizations

  • Explore new business opportunities:

    • FICC

    • Family Offices

    • Derivatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or above in business related discipline, preferably with finance and/or accounting major.

  • 2-7 years’ experience as a research sales associate. Alternatively research, investment banking, accounting, wealth management or industry experience across building materials, steel, packaging and chemicals would be an advantage.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong excel/ spreadsheet skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to work under pressure when required.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • High sense of commercial awareness.

  • Excellent communication, relationship and management skills to both internal and external clients.

  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English.
