Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer – Training & Process Writing to support capability development across the Autobarn network.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, this national role will be responsible for creating engaging training materials, operational guides and standard operating procedures that drive consistency, compliance and operational excellence across our stores and support office teams.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys transforming complex operational information into practical, easy-to-follow training and documentation that makes a real impact on frontline teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain training materials including onboarding programs, eLearning modules, facilitator guides, workbooks and quick reference guides
  • Create and maintain operational process documentation, SOPs, playbooks and user guides for store and support office teams
  • Partner with operational leaders and subject matter experts to identify training and documentation requirements
  • Translate complex business processes into clear, practical and engaging learning content
  • Support new initiatives, projects, systems implementations and operational changes through effective training and process documentation
  • Maintain governance, version control and accuracy across all learning and process materials
  • Review training effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve capability, compliance and operational performance
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of Visual Merchandise Guides (VMGs) and other operational standards

Qualifications

You are a skilled instructional designer, trainer or process writer who is passionate about creating high-quality learning experiences and operational documentation.

You will bring:

  • Experience in instructional design, learning development, training creation or process documentation
  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information
  • Experience developing training materials for operational or customer-facing environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and consistency
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning content development tools
  • A valid driver's licence

Highly Regarded

  • Qualification in Training, Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Business or a related discipline
  • Experience within retail, franchise or multi-site operations environments
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
