The Reserve Bank of Australia is looking for Integration Specialists who will manage and provide expert services in relation to the strategy, plan, design, build, test, change implementation and lifecycle management of integration services used at the Bank. In this role, the Integration Specialist will ensure that the Bank's highly available, cyber security controls and data protection requirements are met throughout the 365 days, 24 x 7 business operation.

About the role

  • Deliver secure, reliable integration solutions across projects and BAU, enabling data exchange between internal systems and external partners.

  • Contribute to integration design, implementation, and roadmap, aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards.

  • Support and maintain integration platforms, ensuring lifecycle management, cyber security compliance, and operational resilience.

  • Ensure 24x7 stability and availability of integration services.

  • Provide design consultancy, incident response, and problem resolution using ITIL/ITSM practices.

  • Maintain documentation and support knowledge sharing via the Integration Centre of Excellence.

  • Assist with audits, asset management, and reporting to support strategic goals.

  • Promote integration best practices and governance across IT and business teams.

About you

  • You bring several years of experience in a similar role with at least 2 years’ experience in Middleware & Integration: IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, Connect: Direct, SWIFT Net, IBM MQ, Tomcat

  • Detail-oriented, innovative, and passionate about integration technologies.

  • Experience supporting mission‑critical systems in a 24x7 operational environment

  • Experienced in designing and supporting secure, scalable middleware solutions.

  • Skilled in scripting, integration protocols, and infrastructure components.

  • Effective communicator with strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

  • Understands middleware’s role in enterprise architecture and complex environments.

Must‑Have

  • IBM Sterling B2B Integrator

  • Java, Shell, Python

  • FTP/SFTP, HTTP/HTTPS, SOAP, TCP/IP

  • Windows & Linux

  • SSL/TLS, PGP, LDAP/AD

Good‑to‑Have

  • Puppet, Ansible, PowerShell, YAML

  • CI/CD (Azure DevOps)

  • Oracle, SQL Server

  • Firewalls, load balancers, SMTP, UDP

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science/IT or relevant certifications.

  • Any certifications related to IBM middleware technologies.
