Job Description

The Ramsay Pharmacy Internship Program is designed to equip interns with the foundational knowledge, skills and confidence required to become capable and skilled pharmacists. 

  • Comprehensive support as you work towards achieving your supervised practice hours, helping you develop your pharmacy knowledge and practical skills. 
  • Access to weekly tutorials, workbooks, quizzes and exam preparation. 
  • Guidance and support from trained AHPRA examiners, clinical pharmacist educators, senior staff, preceptors and supervisors. 
  • Gain valuable insights into avoiding errors, implementing safety nets, reviewing high-risk situations, and exploring ongoing professional development and career pathways. 

Your Role 

  • Work alongside experienced pharmacists to accurately dispense medications, support medication management and provide medication information to patients. 
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support seamless patient care and contribute to day-to-day pharmacy operations. 
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and ethical guidelines while prioritising patient safety and confidentiality.

Strathfield Private Hospital  

Launch your pharmacy career at Strathfield Private Hospital Dispensary, conveniently located within walking distance of Strathfield Train Station. You’ll gain valuable experience across inpatient and dispensary services, with specialised exposure to cardiac pharmacotherapy and Cardiac Rehabilitation. Supported by a collaborative team offering ongoing mentoring and professional development, you’ll build strong hospital pharmacy, communication and cultural competency skills while caring for a diverse patient community. The role also offers a supportive pathway from Intern Pharmacist to Registered Pharmacist, with opportunities to further develop your expertise in cardiac and hospital pharmacy practice. 

Qualifications

About You 

We are seeking Interns who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer and patient care in line with Ramsay’s core values. Key attributes include:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment  
  • Confidence to make informed decisions and take ownership of your practice  

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Full working rights in Australia or New Zealand 
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent qualification (this must be completed before commencing internship)  
  • Be provisionally registered with AHPRA by early 2027. 
  • Available for a minimum of 12 months full-time employment
