The Opportunity    

     

Join our Internal Audit team at Resolution Life Australasia (RLA) and play a key role in providing independent, objective assurance services that help our organization achieve its objectives. We are looking for a motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment. Your primary mission will be to assist the internal audit team in offering insightful advice and innovative solutions to improve RLA's governance, risk management, and control processes. You will enjoy working with an energetic and high-performing team, having exposure to all levels of management and the Board, while delivering high-quality and insightful audit reports.

As a member of the Internal Audit team, you will maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, participate in the delivery of audit assignments, and ensure all work is conducted with proficiency and due professional care. Your role involves providing constructive feedback, coaching team members, and supporting the Chief Audit Executive in preparing the Internal Audit Plan. You will also liaise with external auditors and assurance providers to ensure comprehensive coverage of RLA's risk profile and control environment.

This role offers a full-time fixed-term contract (up to December 2025) and embraces flexible working arrangements. You'll have the freedom to work remotely, with occasional office attendance required on an ad hoc basis, ensuring a harmonious balance between business needs and personal flexibility.

Your Story 
 

RLA has adopted agile ways of working, providing a flexible environment for individuals to make a significant contribution to our success through the application of their skill and experience. To thrive in this environment ideally a candidate has the following attributes:

  • At least 5 years assurance experience, preferably in Internal Audit with proven ability to lead a portfolio of audits. Experience in the Life Insurance industry will be highly valued.

  • Sound understanding of the financial services industry, relevant regulators, and current and proposed financial services regulatory requirements. Specific exposure to Technology auditing and data analytics is sought after. Knowledge of the use of data in auditing is also an advantage (Machine learning, Artificial intelligence).

  • Comprehensive knowledge of internal / external audit methodologies, with demonstrated ability in adding value in providing these services.

  • Strong report writing, presentation and verbal communications skills.

  • Proven ability to understand operational risks inherent or emerging in a business area, to assess the level of risk, and to develop and execute plans to mitigate risk.

  • Established network of internal audit professionals and related associations will be valued.

  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships at a range of levels, including the executive and senior manager level.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage, influence, and engage executives and senior management.

  • Proven customer service orientation.

  • Graduate qualifications in Accounting/Finance/IT or equivalent field

  • CA preferred but CPA or equivalent post graduate qualification considered

  • Internal Audit Qualification (Graduate Certificate in Internal Auditing / CIA) / CISA / Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors – desirable.
