Downer has been awarded a major Integrated Facilities Management contract with Stockland, delivering services across a national portfolio of commercial offices, retail centres, logistics facilities and land lease communities. This long‑term partnership reflects Downer’s strength in managing large, complex portfolios and delivering high‑quality services at scale.

 

We currently have an opportunity for an Internal Communications Manager to join our workforce and play a key role in strengthening employee engagement, connection and confidence across a geographically dispersed workforce. Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications / General Manager – Stockland Property IFM, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes for our client and our communities.

 

This will be a 6-month fixed-term contract position.

 

What You’ll Do 

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

  • Develop and execute strategic internal communications, leadership updates, engagement campaigns and contract communication calendars. 
  • Capture and promote safety achievements, client compliments, innovation, sustainability outcomes and operational successes. 
  • Translate complex operational information into accurate, accessible and audience-appropriate content for employees, leaders, clients and stakeholders. 
  • Build trusted relationships with Stockland stakeholders, contract leadership, operational teams and Marketing and Communications peers. 
  • Measure communication reach, engagement and effectiveness, using insights to improve outcomes and simplify communication workflows.

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related discipline. 
  • Relevant B2G or B2B communications experience, with Facilities Management experience preferred. 
  • Proven experience developing and executing strategic communications in complex organisations or industries. 
  • Exceptional writing, verbal, editorial and storytelling capability across corporate and creative communications. 
  • Strong stakeholder management, project management, prioritisation and digital communication capability, with an analytical and detail-focused approach.
