About Airtree

Airtree is a venture capital firm with a mission to back the most ambitious Australian and Kiwi founders who are building the iconic technology companies of tomorrow, right from the start. As one of the largest and most active funds in Australia and New Zealand, our portfolio comprises of 120+ exciting startups and include 8 of the top 10 most valuable private technology companies in the country. We are lucky to have backed the likes of Canva, Airwallex, Employment Hero, Linktree, Go1, Eucalyptus, Safety Culture, Immutable and many more.

We manage over $2bn and recently announced our fifth vintage of funds totalling $650m. Over half of the capital in Fund V comes from tier-one global institutional investors - backing Australian venture for the first time. Our investor base originally comprised Australian family offices and superannuation funds and has more recently evolved into being majority offshore. It now includes some of the world’s largest university and charitable endowments, sovereigns, fund-of-funds, insurance companies and pension funds based in the US, Europe and Asia.

The Opportunity

We're building a world-class capital formation function and we need someone who gets excited about process optimisation, AI-powered workflows, and turning chaos into systems.

This isn't a traditional investor relations role. We're looking for someone from a sales operations background who wants to redesign how institutional fundraising works - replacing manual spreadsheets and email chains with intelligent automation, clean data, and scalable processes.

You will work directly with our Head of Capital Formation to build and manage our institutional investor pipeline, but you'll do it the way a modern sales ops team would: with smart tools, automation, and relentless focus on efficiency.

What You'll Do
Pipeline Development & Targeting
  • End-to-end ownership of the fundraising timeline, milestone tracking, and stakeholder management
  • Management of virtual data room (VDR) architecture and management of all investor due diligence sessions
  • Support the firm’s ongoing co-investment program for key investors, leading the rollout and coordination of all investment materials
  • Build and maintain targeted lists of institutional LPs (endowments, pension funds, sovereigns, fund-of-funds) using AI-powered research tools
  • Identify and qualify new investor prospects across global markets
  • Develop account intelligence and briefing materials for senior stakeholders
  • Map the institutional investor landscape and track emerging opportunities
  • Execute the engagement plan for existing LPs, including the coordination and content preparation for key investor updates, quarterly webinars and the annual general meeting
Sales Operations & Automation
  • Own and optimise our CRM system - ensuring data hygiene, pipeline accuracy, and useful reporting
  • Build automated workflows for outreach, follow-up, and relationship tracking
  • Design and implement systems that replace manual processes with scalable solutions
  • Create dashboards and analytics to track pipeline health and fundraising progress
Logistics & Roadshow Coordination
  • Plan and execute multi-city fundraising roadshows (US, Europe, Asia)
  • Identify key industry conferences and LP events worth attending
  • Coordinate complex travel schedules, meeting logistics, and briefing materials
  • Ensure seamless execution of investor meetings and follow-ups
Stakeholder Support
  • Prepare presentation materials, data rooms, and investor communications
  • Support the Head of Capital Formation with meeting prep and research
  • Communicate professionally with sophisticated institutional investors when needed
  • Close loops and keep complex initiatives moving forward

Requirements
  • 3-8 years experience in sales operations, revenue operations, or sales development
  • Proven ability to build scalable processes from scratch
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and geek out on automation and optimising workflows
  • You thrive on deadlines and have a proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects where precision and momentum are critical.
  • Highly articulate and confident to participate in meetings with sophisticated global investors and the writing skills to prepare high-quality investor content.
  • You excel at navigating complex internal and external relationships, keeping partners, finance teams, and investors aligned.
  • Love experimenting with AI tools for research, outreach, and automation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - you'll be interacting with institutional investors
Mindset & Approach
  • Process-oriented & proactive: You see manual work and think "how can I automate this?"
  • Builder mentality: Excited to design systems from 0 to 1
  • Detail-obsessed: Data hygiene and follow-through are non-negotiable
  • Resourceful: High initiative, self-directed, figures things out
  • Adaptable: Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
Nice to have
  • Experience with prospect research tools (Apollo, ZoomInfo, Clay, etc.)
  • Background in financial services sales or capital markets
  • Familiarity with venture capital or private equity
  • International travel experience and cultural awareness
  • Investor relations experience
  • Understand fund structures or LP dynamics (yet)
  • Finance background
