About the Role:

The End User Computing (EUC) Engineer role requires an excellent understanding of end-user computing devices, their peripherals, and associated operating systems, including Windows and macOS, within a predominantly Windows-based environment. 

An EUC Engineer must have a strong understanding of applications within the core SOE, including their support, configuration, and optimisation. The role also involves evaluating new technologies and solutions to enhance user experience and improve organisational performance. 

The End User Computing team operates within a globally distributed model. Each EUC Engineer is responsible for managing end-user technology at their designated sites, as well as providing remote support across global locations to ensure consistent service delivery. 

The EUC Engineer is expected to utilise Microsoft Intune for application packaging, device configuration, and automation of common tasks, while proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance service delivery.


What you will do:

The responsibilities will vary day to day and may include:

  • Investigate and resolve IT Requests and Incidents in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.  
  • Provide support for technical issues related to applications within the Standard Operating Environment (SOE), maintaining up-to-date knowledge of supported technologies. 
  • Take ownership of issues, including investigation, root cause analysis, solution design, testing, and implementation where required. 
  • Manage stakeholder communication, ensuring users are kept informed and requests are progressed in line with Service Delivery guidelines. 
  • Deliver high-quality customer service, manage escalations effectively, and provide clear, audience-appropriate technical guidance. 
  • Ensure all IT activities are accurately tracked and recorded in approved tools (e.g., ServiceNow). 
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including EUC processes, Service Desk knowledge articles, and self-service materials. 
  • Perform hardware setup, software deployment, and device configuration in line with organisational standards. 
  • Support asset and inventory management, including tracking hardware, stock levels, and coordinating repairs.

  • High proficiency with the following technologies:
  • MFA tools
  • Laptops (Windows and macOS)
  • Enterprise printing
  • Azure AD (Entra ID) and on-prem AD
  • Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Office)
  • Adobe / Nitro PDF editors
  • Microsoft Intune
  • ITIL Foundation
  • AZ-900 (Microsoft Azure Fundamentals)
  • Conference and collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Teams Rooms)
  • Application packaging and deployment experience
  • Exposure to scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell) is desirable
  • Experience in a clinical/medical/lab environment will be beneficial (GLP / GCP /GxP experience)
