The Opportunity
Are you an IT audit professional looking for a dynamic role that leverages your expertise while making a significant impact? We're seeking a Senior IT Audit Manager to join our high-performing Internal Audit team. You'll provide independent, objective, and insightful assurance on RLA's governance, risk management, and control processes. This role offers exposure across the entire organisation, with interactions at all management levels, including the Board. Your innovative approach and data-driven mindset will be pivotal in supporting our vision, strategic audit plan, and governance obligations.
As a Senior IT Audit Manager, you will maintain effective relationships with senior management while leading or participating in IT-focused internal audit assignments. You'll ensure audit work is thorough, data-driven, and professionally executed, promoting transparency and providing actionable insights. Your focus will be on identifying and addressing root causes, enhancing risk awareness, and ensuring management commitment to resolving issues. Additionally, you'll assist in preparing the IT Internal Audit Plan and undertake special audit assignments as needed.
Your role also involves providing on-the-job training to team members, ensuring high standards of quality and adherence to RLA's methodology and external professional standards. You'll liaise with external auditors and assurance providers to maintain effective assurance coverage across RLA's IT risk profile. This role offers a full-time fixed-term contract (ending December 2025) and embraces flexible working arrangements. You'll have the freedom to work remotely, with occasional office attendance required on an ad hoc basis, ensuring a harmonious balance between business needs and personal flexibility.
Your Story

At least 5 years assurance experience, preferably in Internal Audit with proven ability to lead IT audits. Experience in the Life Insurance industry will be highly valued.

Sound understanding of the financial services industry, relevant regulators, and current and proposed financial services regulatory requirements. Specific exposure to Technology auditing, including audits of cybersecurity and knowledge of Risk, Compliance and Finance is highly desirable. Knowledge of the use of data in auditing is also an advantage (Machine learning, Artificial intelligence, Natural Language processing).

Comprehensive knowledge of internal / external audit methodologies, with demonstrated ability in adding value in providing these services.

Strong report writing, presentation and verbal communications skills.

Proven ability to understand operational risks inherent or emerging in a business area, to assess the level of risk, and to develop and execute plans to mitigate risk.

Demonstrated ability to manage, influence, and engage executives and senior management.

Proven customer service orientation.

Graduate qualifications in Accounting/Finance/IT or equivalent field

CA preferred but CPA or equivalent post graduate qualification considered

A current ISACA membership is an advantage.

Internal Audit Qualification (Graduate Certificate in Internal Auditing / CIA) / Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors – desirable.
