We're currently looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst to join our Sydney team and play a key role in driving business process improvement, digital transformation initiatives, and enterprise technology solutions across our organisation.

About the Role

As an IT Business Analyst, you will act as a key link between business stakeholders and IT teams, helping translate business needs into innovative technology solutions.


You will identify opportunities to improve processes, analyse business requirements, support project delivery, and ensure successful implementation of systems and business improvements that create measurable value.


This role is ideal for a proactive and commercially minded Business Analyst who enjoys solving complex business challenges and driving continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business & IT Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and IT teams to align technology solutions with business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes through technology and automation.
  • Support business risk management, compliance, and audit remediation initiatives.
  • Assist in defining and delivering strategic and tactical technology objectives.

 

Business Analysis & Solution Delivery

  • Gather, analyse, and document business requirements and functional specifications.
  • Conduct workshops, stakeholder interviews, and discovery sessions.
  • Map current and future-state business processes and workflows.
  • Analyse critical business data flows, systems, and operational requirements.
  • Translate business capabilities into detailed functional requirements.
  • Partner with technical teams to design, test, and implement business solutions.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and solution deployment activities.
  • Contribute to change management, communication, and training initiatives.

 

Operational & Governance Support

  • Maintain solution documentation and relevant system information within ServiceNow and CMDB environments.
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery activities.
  • Ensure adherence to IT governance processes and best practices.

 

About You

We're seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Business Analyst who can confidently engage with stakeholders, challenge existing processes, and deliver business-focused outcomes.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or similar roles.
  • Proven ability to gather requirements and translate complex business needs into practical technology solutions.
  • Strong business process mapping, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with ERP platforms and business processes (essential), including systems such as:
    • Pronto
    • iScala
    • Epicor
  • Experience using SQL and data analysis tools.
  • Experience delivering projects in Agile and/or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.

 

Desirable

  • Experience with Business Intelligence and reporting platforms such as Power BI or Cognos.
  • CBAP, PMP, or other relevant Business Analysis or Project Management certifications.
  • Experience supporting enterprise transformation or system implementation projects.
