At Q-CTRL, we don’t treat IT as a back-office gatekeeper; we see it as a core enabler of security, productivity and scale. We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on IT leader to take ownership of our global environment, someone who rejects cookie cutter enterprise dogma in favor of pragmatic, high-impact systems and processes built for a fast-moving technology company.
This is a broad role by design. You’ll work across identity and access, SaaS platforms, endpoint management, networking, infrastructure, service delivery and vendor management, balancing long-term IT strategy with the practical, day-to-day delivery of IT services across a growing, global team.
You’ll have the opportunity to simplify and strengthen our environment, improve automation and employee experience, establish consistent standards across regions, and shape an IT roadmap that supports both current operations and future growth.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own our core workplace technology: Administer and continuously improve our Google Workspace environment and broader SaaS stack, including identity, access, permissions, integrations and user lifecycle management running on our predominantly macOS endpoint fleet.
- Keep the day-to-day running smoothly: Act as a hands-on escalation point for IT issues across hardware, software, identity, connectivity and collaboration tools, while improving support processes and reducing recurring friction.
- Maintain secure, reliable infrastructure: Manage and improve our office networks, VPNs, on-premises infrastructure and other core IT systems, troubleshooting directly and engaging specialist support where needed.
- Build scalable IT operations: Own and continuously improve our existing standards and processes for IT onboarding/offboarding, asset management, access management, service delivery and documentation, while implementing automation to reduce manual work, improve consistency and support our global teams.
- Shape the IT roadmap: Balance immediate operational priorities with longer-term improvements, making pragmatic decisions about architecture, tooling, technical debt and where to focus as the company grows.
Ideally you’ll have:
- SaaS & Identity Mastery: Proven expertise administering enterprise-grade SaaS environments (Google Workspace) and designing robust IAM architectures
- Global Builder Mindset: Experience scaling global endpoint environments via MDM tools, combined with a bias for action that balances long-term architecture with daily tactical execution
- Deep Networking & Server Foundations: Practical knowledge in securing, configuring, and troubleshooting complex networks and server infrastructure (Linux/Windows)
- Security & Compliance First: Background maintaining environments aligned with global security frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001:2022) and implementing DLP strategies
- Collaborative Leadership: Exceptional communication skills, with a track record of supporting cross-functional, multi-time-zone teams with empathy and clarity
It would be fantastic if you have these skills/experience:
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure across Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Advanced workflow automation and ticketing setup via Jira Service Management (JSM)
- Exposure to navigating IT environments subject to global export control regimes
