Provide strategic advice to clients and external counsel, conduct legal research and outcome analyses, oversee document production and discovery, manage files, and mentor junior lawyers while ensuring high-quality, commercially focused outcomes.
The Opportunity
A well-established litigation team is seeking a Senior Associate (7+ PQE), in Sydney and Norwest, to work on high-profile commercial disputes. You will collaborate with senior partners on complex contractual, equity, and property matters, and have the chance to mentor junior lawyers while taking a hands-on role in managing large-scale litigation.
This role offers direct exposure to international commercial disputes, strategic litigation planning, and advising clients on risk management and dispute resolution strategies. You will work closely with external Counsel and internal teams to ensure efficient, high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
• Manage complex commercial litigation matters from start to finish
• Liaise with Counsel and clients, providing strategic advice
• Conduct detailed legal research and prepare analyses on potential litigation outcomes
• Oversee document production, discovery, and file management
• Support and mentor junior team members
Requirements / Ideal Candidate
• 7+ years PQE in commercial disputes
• Experience in large-scale litigation and complex document discovery
• Strong strategic, analytical, and critical thinking skills
• Leadership experience with a focus on developing junior lawyers
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Commercially minded with the ability to manage multiple priorities
