We're looking for an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Technology Centre of Excellence and play a key role in driving platform reliability, automation, and engineering excellence across the organisation.
In this role, you'll blend strategic thinking with hands-on technical expertise, helping establish best practices, operational standards, and governance across our cloud and on-premises environments. Working with technologies including Azure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and event-streaming platforms, you'll lead initiatives that improve resilience, scalability, and performance while empowering teams to deliver with confidence.

What you’ll do
- Lead the management and optimisation of Kafka, Pega, middleware services, Azure cloud, and Kubernetes platforms.
- Drive reliability through automation, monitoring, observability, and DevOps best practices.
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) capabilities.
- Support platform upgrades, migrations, and strategic technology initiatives.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
- Embed security, compliance, and operational risk controls across platform operations.
- Partner with engineering, architecture, and security teams to deliver business-critical outcomes.
- Mentor engineers and help uplift platform engineering standards across the organisation.
What we’re looking for
- Significant experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
- Strong expertise across Azure, Kubernetes, Kafka, middleware technologies, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and modern CI/CD toolchains.
- A strong focus on platform reliability, resilience, and operational excellence.
- Experience managing major incidents and production environments at scale.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A passion for continuous improvement, automation, and developing others.
