6-9-month contract role

Today, we have 750,000+ customers and more than A$8B under administration. Join us as we continue to reshape the financial industry, inspire investor confidence and unleash the investor in everyone.

About the role

We are looking for a Learning and Development Consultant to join our People team in Sydney on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

You’ll own learning experiences that help our people understand their compliance and risk obligations and put them into practice with confidence. You’ll take complex regulatory requirements and turn them into learning that’s clear, engaging and distinctly Stake. You’ll also help shape how we deliver, track and continuously improve mandatory learning across the business.

A major focus will be moving Stake to a fit-for-purpose learning platform and establishing it as our reliable source of truth for mandatory learning. You’ll create targeted programs for key personnel and Responsibility Managers and work closely with Risk, Compliance, Customer Success, Operations and other subject-matter experts to make learning accurate, relevant and useful. We work hybrid spending 3 days in our beautiful, dog-friendly Sydney office.

What success looks like
  • You’ve built a suite of clear, current and distinctly Stake learning experiences that make complex compliance and risk obligations easier to understand, remember and apply.
  • You’ve established our new LMS as the trusted source of truth for mandatory learning, with content, learner records, reporting and compliance evidence successfully migrated and maintained.
  • Mandatory training consistently meets agreed completion targets, with clear reporting that identifies risks early and helps teams act quickly.
  • Key personnel and Responsibility Managers have targeted learning that builds genuine readiness, backed by assessments that give us confidence in their understanding.
  • You’ve lifted the standard of mandatory learning through thoughtful formats, gamification and incentives that make participation more engaging while maintaining regulatory rigour.
  • You’ve built strong partnerships across Risk, Compliance, Customer Success, Operations, People and the wider business, quickly getting to the heart of learning needs and turning specialist knowledge into practical experiences.
  • We have a clear view of whether learning is working. You use completion, assessment and engagement signals to sharpen programs and improve outcomes.
  • You’ve used AI thoughtfully to rethink how learning is designed, maintained and delivered, creating more leverage while keeping quality, accuracy and judgement high.
You’ll thrive here if…
  • You’re a strong learning designer who can turn technical, regulatory or ambiguous subject matter into something people can quickly understand and put into practice.
  • You bring sound judgement to compliance and risk learning. You know where creativity can lift engagement and where accuracy, evidence and defensibility need to lead.
  • You’ve configured, migrated or operated an LMS and understand what matters across learner data, content, reporting and training records.
  • You listen closely, absorb subject-matter expertise quickly and find the real problem. You bring clarity and momentum when requirements are still taking shape.
  • You take end-to-end ownership and care about the outcome. Great learning, to you, means people engage with it, complete it and walk away better equipped to do their jobs.
  • You thrive in a high-performance environment. You move quickly, keep things simple, challenge constructively and use AI to lift the quality and pace of your work.
Bonus if you’ve ever
  • Worked with SanaLabs or SafetyCulture, or helped implement or migrate to a modern learning platform.
  • Designed learning in financial services, fintech or another regulated environment.
  • Built programs for accountable executives, key personnel or people with defined regulatory responsibilities.
  • Used gamification, incentives or experimentation to meaningfully improve learning engagement and completion.
So what happens next?

Once we’ve received your application, we’ll give it the attention it deserves and if we think you’d be a good addition to our team, we’ll give you a call and from there, you’ll cruise through our recruitment process.
