  • Salary: HEW Level 6 $97,693 – $104,713 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading

Lead student-centred Library Learning Hub services that strengthen academic, digital and information skills.

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and organised Learning Hub Senior Librarian to support the Student Skills & Engagement Team in delivering high-quality, student-centred Library Learning Hub services. The role will co-lead and support the Learning Hub team, including rostering across physical and online Hubs, mentoring staff, supporting professional development, and helping maintain consistent service delivery across campuses and service channels.

The Learning Hub Senior Librarian will contribute to the ongoing development of the Library Learning Hub by implementing initiatives that enhance the student experience and support continuous improvement. This includes delivering and supporting enquiry services across face-to-face, online chat, phone and online FAQ channels, while ensuring students receive accurate, inclusive and responsive support that builds their digital, information and academic skills.

Working closely with the Library Learning Hub Coordinator, other Library leaders and Library colleagues, the role will help align Learning Hub services with the University’s vision and the Library Strategy. The Learning Hub Senior Librarian will also champion contemporary library service practice by evaluating and implementing emerging technologies, digital tools and sector best practice, tracking and reporting on student engagement, and using insights to help activate the Library Learning Hub for diverse student cohorts.

About You
The successful candidate will bring strong leadership capability, sound judgement and a commitment to delivering inclusive, student-centred library services. The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree in Library Studies, or a relevant discipline, with eligibility for ALIA membership.
  • Demonstrated experience in library management, service coordination or team leadership, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of frontline library service delivery, including online chat, phone-based enquiries and other digital service channels.
  • Proven ability to plan, coordinate and roster services across physical and online environments.
  • Knowledge of academic skills support and the role of library services in supporting student learning and success.
  • Advanced digital literacy, including confidence using library management systems, digital tools and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and support a positive service culture.
