At Aussie Broadband, our purpose is to change the game, and we're looking for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to help us do just that. As part of our Legal team, you'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, providing practical legal advice that supports commercial outcomes while appropriately managing risk.This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of commercial, corporate and governance matters while partnering with teams across Enterprise & Government, Wholesale, Business, Marketing, Projects, Risk & Compliance, Strategy, and senior leadership.
This is a 12-Month Maximum-Term ContractWhat You'll Do:As Legal Counsel, you'll play an important role in supporting the business on a variety of legal, regulatory and strategic matters, including:
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating customer contracts, procurement agreements, tenders, consultancy agreements, software licences, sponsorship agreements, leases and other commercial agreements as required by the business.
  • Providing practical legal advice across commercial, competition and consumer, intellectual property, corporate and property matters.
  • Developing and maintaining standard contracts, templates and legal resources.
  • Assisting with dispute resolution and litigation matters.
  • Delivering guidance and training to stakeholders across the business.
  • Supporting company secretarial and governance activities, including Board and Committee administration, regulatory lodgments and corporate compliance requirements.
What You'll Bring:
  • A Bachelor of Laws and admission to practice in Australia.
  • Experience working in-house, on secondment, or within a commercial legal practice.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance business priorities and legal risk.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and sound judgement when working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting governance or company secretarial functions will be highly regarded. Experience within telecommunications or an ASX-listed organisation is advantageous but not essential.
